Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of GlassOcean's maritime intelligence platform and services. Please read them carefully before using the Service.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using GlassOcean Maritime Intelligence ("GlassOcean", "the Service", "we", "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not access or use the Service. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Description of Service

GlassOcean provides a maritime intelligence platform that includes:

  • •Vessel Tracking & Monitoring — real-time AIS-based vessel position tracking, geofencing, and fleet management
  • •Intelligence & Analysis — anomaly detection, dark vessel identification, risk scoring, and satellite imagery analysis
  • •Meteorology & Oceanography — real-time and forecast environmental data for maritime operations
  • •Operations & Planning — route planning, maritime operation coordination, and worksheet management
  • •Dataset Access — Vessel DB, Fighting Ship Database, and Port State Control records

The specific features available to you depend on your subscription plan. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service with reasonable notice.

3. Account Registration and Security

To access the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • •Provide accurate, complete, and current registration information
  • •Maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • •Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
  • •Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
  • •Not share login credentials with unauthorized third parties
  • •Use multi-factor authentication where enabled or required by your organization

GlassOcean reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that we reasonably believe have been compromised or used in violation of these Terms.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:

  • •Use the Service to facilitate illegal activities, including but not limited to sanctions evasion, drug trafficking, human trafficking, or terrorism financing
  • •Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the platform
  • •Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to extract data beyond what is permitted by your subscription plan
  • •Resell, sublicense, or redistribute data obtained through the Service without written authorization
  • •Circumvent or attempt to circumvent any security measures or access controls
  • •Upload or transmit malicious code, viruses, or any content that could harm the Service or other users
  • •Use the Service to harass, defame, or threaten any individual or organization
  • •Impersonate GlassOcean or misrepresent your affiliation with the platform

GlassOcean reserves the right to investigate and take appropriate legal action against violations of this section.

5. Maritime Data and Intellectual Property

GlassOcean's intellectual property The Service, including its software, algorithms, databases, user interface, and associated documentation, is owned by GlassOcean and protected by intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service during your subscription period.

AIS and public domain data Vessel position data derived from public AIS transmissions is considered publicly available information under international maritime law. However, GlassOcean's processing, enrichment, and analysis of this data constitutes proprietary intellectual property.

Customer-generated content Analysis, reports, alerts, and intelligence products you create within the platform remain your property. By using the Service, you grant GlassOcean a limited license to process this content solely to provide the Service.

Satellite imagery Satellite imagery provided through the Service is licensed from third-party satellite operators. Use of imagery is restricted to the purposes permitted by your subscription and may not be redistributed.

6. Payment and Subscription

Subscription fees GlassOcean offers subscription-based access to the Service. Fees are as agreed in your order form or subscription agreement. Prices may change upon renewal with 30 days prior written notice.

Payment Invoices are payable within 30 days of issue unless otherwise agreed. Overdue payments may result in suspension of access and may accrue interest at 1.5% per month.

Refunds Subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable law or as explicitly stated in your order form.

Taxes All fees are exclusive of applicable taxes. You are responsible for paying any taxes assessed on your use of the Service in your jurisdiction.

7. Confidentiality

Each party agrees to maintain the confidentiality of the other party's Confidential Information and not to disclose it to third parties without prior written consent, except:

  • •As required by law or court order
  • •To professional advisors bound by confidentiality obligations
  • •With the prior written consent of the disclosing party

GlassOcean's confidential information includes: software, algorithms, pricing, business strategies, and non-public technical documentation.

Your confidential information includes: your customer data, operational intelligence, and any proprietary information you upload or generate within the platform.

Confidentiality obligations survive termination of these Terms for a period of 3 years.

8. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

No warranty The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. GlassOcean does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or meet your specific requirements.

Accuracy of maritime data While GlassOcean strives to provide accurate and timely data, maritime intelligence data (including AIS positions, vessel profiles, and risk scores) may contain errors or gaps. You should not rely solely on GlassOcean data for navigation safety, compliance decisions, or actions with significant financial or legal consequences without independent verification.

Limitation of liability To the maximum extent permitted by law, GlassOcean's total liability to you shall not exceed the fees paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim. In no event shall GlassOcean be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.

9. Termination

Either party may terminate the subscription at the end of the current billing period by providing written notice. GlassOcean may suspend or terminate your access immediately if:

  • •You materially breach these Terms and fail to cure within 14 days of notice
  • •You use the Service to facilitate illegal activities
  • •You fail to pay undisputed invoices within 60 days of the due date
  • •GlassOcean is required to do so by law or regulation

Upon termination, your right to access the Service ceases. You may request an export of your customer-generated data within 30 days of termination. After 30 days, GlassOcean may delete your data subject to legal retention requirements.

10. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any dispute arising from these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration administered by the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) under its rules.

Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking injunctive or other equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to protect intellectual property or confidential information.
